Papilion, Event & Demonstration Garden at Honor Heights Park

The Good Fieldwork team completed this landscape construction project as our partner company, JONESPLAN LLC.

About the project.

The City of Muskogee contracted with JONESPLAN to add an event lawn, a demonstration garden, a formal fountain and a butterfly papilion to their popular Honor Heights Park. The butterfly papilion is the centerpiece of the project and is constructed of a double height timber framed core with a translucent polygal roof and walls.  The wings of the enclosure are a greenhouse structure covered in netting, allowing for free and safe movement of butterflies throughout the spaces and around visitors.

The doors of the papilion open to a formal fountain and turf grass event lawn beyond framed by a continuous concrete walkway.

Throughout the addition, JONESPLAN installed cobblestone pavers, site furnishings, steel arbors, benches, lighting and a full-coverage irrigation system. The park is a beautiful space for interaction with flora and fauna, a peaceful setting for outings, and a great backdrop for special events.
