About the project.

Gathering Place is an award-winning, recreational, civic and cultural destination along Tulsa’s riverfront. JONESPLAN contributed to the greater park project by focusing expertise on one of the specific project components. The primary focus was to install oversized native stones throughout the massive park. The stones installed are now landscape walls for bench seating, the

jagged hillside for Slide Vale, the spiral walkway at Chapman Adventure Playground, boulders at Water Mountain, bridge supports, giant rocks at Willow Beach and Peggy’s Pond enbankment slabs. Setting thousands of tons of native stones required close coordination with the architect through the completion of shop drawings, managing the logistics of ordering

and receiving the stones from the quarries, and their safe and precise installation. JONESPLAN also assisted with the enormous landscape scope, including wetland mitigation, temporary irrigation, beach sand installation, meadow plantings, mulching, fertilizing, flood repair and maintenance.
