Campus of Care - ALTA Head Start
About this project:
Alta Head Start moved into its new Campus of Care facility in Mineral Ridge, Ohio. It’s a beautiful campus with an inviting entry drive that meanders through an idyllic park-like setting but was lacking outdoor learning spaces.
After meeting the Good Fieldwork team at the 2022 Head Start Conference in Baltimore, the administration partnered with us to create two outdoor classrooms on an undeveloped side yard next to their building - one for early childhood and one for Pre-K.
These nature classrooms include activity areas like climbing structures suited for different stages of development, a bike path for the bigger kids, plenty of shade for both classrooms (including new maple trees and custom shade arbors), and several gathering spaces for all kinds of activities.
