conceptual design of an early childhood education center outdoor classroom

Holland Hall is a private school in Tulsa, Okla., serving students in Pre-K to grade 12. The drop-off / pick-up area and existing playgrounds at Holland Hall's early childhood center will be reimagined into three new outdoor classrooms and a bike path area for learning, exploring and playing.

The outdoor classrooms will feature gathering spaces for all kinds of activities, lots of natural materials carved into and replacing uninviting concrete patios, sensory pathways for climbing over, through, under and across, a quiet hammock area for self-regulation, and a slide pit, cave and suspension bridge for adventure play. Additionally, a large bike path will be added on an existing hillside to include pathway options for new and more advanced bikers and trikers.

The ongoing extensive collaboration between Good Fieldwork and the staff at Holland Hall during the design process is resulting in a vision that will be just right for the school's youngest learners. We can't wait to bring this project to life.
